Lay, Linear Algebra and Its Applications 3rd ed.
I recommend you work most of the odd problems in each section that we study. The answers are in the back of the book, so you can check your work. Many of the problems have short answers testing conceptual understanding, or they require simple calculations. Working the problems will solidify the key concepts, give you some experience helpful for the assigned problems, and prepare you for the exam.
